UHF/VHF Portable Weekend (2/3 July 2016)
This weekend we decide to run the club equipment to see if problems with computers could be cured. So off to the hills it was.
This time we wished to check out another hilltop towards the south of the county overlooking Lough mask, we were not bothered about times of the contest, unlike other sites there is no masts or even E.S.B. lines anywhere near this location, a perfect location for the high bands. We were not disappointed! Yagi’s for 50 and 70 MHz were set up, we concentrated on the digi modes making contacts on jt65 and ssb.
As is the norm this year conditions were poor to bad. We did make some contacts and tested the equipment thoroughly.
